Behind the scenes: making felt cloud coasters

Here is a little info about the cloud coasters we make and some behind the scenes pictures of how we make them.

Each coaster is made from 100% wool felt, which is naturally moisture proof and durable - perfect for protecting tables. It is also heat resistant and eco-friendly.

As you can see from the pictures below, we currently make plain grey and mélange grey sets. We draw round a stencil designed by us using a vanishing fabric marker. The purple pen line vanishes after 48 hours which allows us to cut the design accurately with out having to worry about the felt being marked.

All coasters are carefully cut by hand.

Then every rain drop is cut with a special metal punch and hammer. This is the most fun part of the process - and the loudest!
